The Tale of Two Children

The parents' point of view.

Your child is struggling to make friends and fit in. She is different and doesn't fit the mold of other children. Maybe she is a “wild child” or an overweight child. You catch other parents whispering and making comments about how much energy your child has or how much your child weighs. Even your spouse says, "Wow, what's wrong with our child? What's wrong with us?" Every expert you turn to just makes you more confused. Everyone has answers, but no one has the right answer. Nothing seems to work.

Meet Maria

Maria is a bright, gifted and talented child with enormous creativity, but suffers from a learning disability in math and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She has unbounded energy and wears out all who come in contact with her. Because Maria is perceived as different, she attracts bullies. Even her friends can only take Maria in small doses due to her exhausting level of energy. She suffers low self-esteem from the bullying and because she does not fit the standard curriculum, despite an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Meet Kyle

Kyle is a great academic achiever and might have been a way cool kid at school, before he gained weight. He and his family struggle with the social and psychological consequences—being called "fat" and shunned by his peer group. Kyle compensates with his intelligence, but many dismiss him as annoying. Mom and dad have tried all the right things: psychology, medical science, nutrition and exercise, but nothing has worked. These methodologies, used in isolation, didn't sufficiently engage Kyle's intellect and creativity.

What can a Parent do?

Yondrr can assist parents who don't know where to turn or how to find resources to support and encourage their child. We help children who do not “fit the mold” by building their self-esteem and confidence. We support a holistic approach for tackling childhood issues with insights from nutritionists, pediatricians, psychologists, exercise coaches, chefs, teachers and other specialists—in a way that immerses the child in a nurturing, creative experience that grabs their interest and motivation.
